Spiritual Direction

As a spiritual director, Professor Baker will walk with you through the forested landscapes of your own faith-filled journey, bearing witness to what he sees and hear along the way. His practice, informed by a lifelong study of theology, is centered on evocative questioning and contemplative listening.

He offers 1:1 sessions, in person or virtual, as well as group direction for congregations and other communities.

Professor Baker is a graduate of the Phoenix Center for Spiritual Direction.

“Tony's respectful handling of the difficult aspects of my journey, along with his non-judgmental stance, have been crucial factors in my self-acceptance and my fidelity to a new pastoral identity. In addition, his broad theoretical competency has supported me at times when I needed a philosophical or ecumenical framing of my concerns. I recommend him with my whole heart.”
